Detectives in Sheffield are seeking witnesses and information following the discovery of an unconscious man on Martin Street in the Upperthorpe area over the weekend. The man, aged in his 60s, was found by a passerby at around 07.00 on Saturday, September 30, and was subsequently transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
In response to the incident, investigators have conducted thorough inquiries and are now appealing to the public for any information that could shed light on what transpired. Detective Constable Kevin Sibley, leading the investigation, stated, “We know the victim left the city centre and was captured on CCTV walking towards the University Square roundabout at 2.29 am that morning.”
Authorities are urging individuals who were in the vicinity around that time or possess dashcam footage from the area to come forward. DC Sibley emphasised the importance of any potential witnesses reaching out, saying, “If you have witnessed anything suspicious or remember seeing this man, or have any footage, please could you make contact with us on 101 and quote investigation number 14/175278/23.”
