A major emergency response was launched on Monday following the discovery of a man’s body in a residential car park on Woodpath Close, near Elm Grove in Southsea.
Specialist medics, including an air ambulance team, were dispatched urgently to the scene, with the helicopter landing on Southsea Common in a bid to provide life-saving assistance. Despite the best efforts of paramedics and doctors, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain unclear at this stage. Hampshire Police officers cordoned off the area and began initial investigations, with forensic teams spotted combing the site for evidence.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and it is not known if the death is currently being treated as suspicious.
Police Appeal for Information
Residents in the area reported a significant police presence throughout the day. Officers are continuing their enquiries and have appealed to the public for help.
A police spokesperson said:
