A tragic incident off the coast of Dumfries and Galloway has claimed the life of a 42-year-old man after two jet skis collided on Saturday.
The collision occurred on Saturday afternoon, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Police arrived at the scene at 5:35 pm and found the man with serious injuries. He was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for urgent medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, the man sadly passed away on Sunday morning. Fortunately, no other individuals were injured in the incident.
Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson expressed condolences to the man’s family and all those affected by the tragedy. He emphasised that their investigations into the collision are ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Our enquiries to establish what led to this collision are ongoing and at an early stage,” said Detective Inspector Robertson. I would urge anyone with information regarding what happened, or if they were present and saw anything to come forward.
The next of kin of the deceased have been notified by Police Scotland, who continue to seek answers regarding the circumstances of the collision.
