A man has died following a stabbing incident in Plymouth, prompting Devon and Cornwall Police to launch a murder investigation. Officers were called to Cambridge Road around 2:30 p.m. on Monday after receiving reports of a stabbing.
The victim, a 36-year-old man from Plymouth, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have since confirmed that a weapon, believed to have been used in the incident, has been seized, although it is not a firearm.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Fleetwood, the senior investigating officer on the case, stated that police are actively searching for two men in connection with the incident. Their identities are known to authorities, and inquiries are ongoing to locate them.
“We have cordons in place and are working diligently to bring an offender to justice for the victim’s family,” said DCI Fleetwood. He also assured the community that there is no indication of a broader threat to the public, despite the “heightened police presence” expected in the area over the next few days as officers continue gathering evidence.
