A man has died in hospital following a medical incident that took place in Lewisham during the early hours of Wednesday, April 2.

Emergency services were called to Brownhill Road, near Bowness Road, at approximately 2 am after receiving reports of a man suffering a medical emergency.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service crews arrived at the scene, and the man was immediately taken to hospital. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
At around 02:00hrs on Wednesday, 2 April, police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Brownhill Road SE6 to reports of a man suffering a medical emergency.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of the paramedics, the man was later pronounced dead at hospital.
The death is being treated as unexpected at this stage, and enquiries continue.
