Police officers were called to Bromley South railway station on the evening of October 18 following reports of a man in possession of a sword on a train. The incident, which occurred at approximately 7:12 pm, prompted a swift response from authorities.
Upon arrival, officers quickly located and detained the individual in question. After conducting a thorough search, they discovered that the sword was, in fact, a plastic replica. No harm or danger was posed to passengers during the incident.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed: “Officers were called to Bromley South railway station at 7.12 pm on 18 October to reports of a man in possession of a sword on a train. Officers attended, and a man was quickly identified and detained. Following a search, this was confirmed to be a plastic sword, and words of advice were given.”
The man was not arrested, and no further action was taken as authorities deemed the item harmless. However, police reminded the public of the importance of exercising caution when carrying items that could be mistaken for weapons in public spaces, as they can cause unnecessary alarm and distress.
