A 25-year-old man, identified as Awad Rovalino and with no fixed abode, has been charged with trespassing on a protected site and attempted theft from a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Buckingham Palace. The charges stem from an incident that occurred at 01:25am on Saturday, 16 September, in the Royal Mews area, adjacent to Buckingham Palace.
Authorities swiftly responded to the situation when officers at Buckingham Palace were alerted to an individual climbing the wall and gaining entry to the Royal Mews. The Royal Mews holds significant historical and cultural value, making it a protected site of national importance.
Awad Rovalino now faces the serious charges of trespassing onto this protected site and attempting theft from a motor vehicle during the same incident.
Rovalino is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 18 September.
