A man has been charged with murder after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Harlow.
Incident Details
The tragic incident occurred around 5:30 pm on Saturday, March 29, when emergency services were called to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at a cycle path off Momples Road.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, a man in his 20s from London was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Named and Charges Filed
Essex Police have identified and charged Jeremy Heath, 50, of Ladyshot, Harlow, with murder in connection with the fatal collision. He has also been charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place and robbery. Heath is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 2.
Further Arrests Made
Two additional arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
- A 39-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and murder.
- A 42-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Both men remain in custody for questioning.
