A man has been charged following a violent robbery in Stourbridge that left two teenagers injured and sparked concern in the local community.

On Sunday, 13 April 2025, at around 6:15 PM, West Midlands Police were called to reports of a robbery near Swanfield Road, where two teenage boys were assaulted and threatened with a knife in an open public space.

The assailants reportedly stole a bag containing a phone and a coat, leaving both boys with injuries. The victims received medical attention, and their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening.

Arrests and Charges

Ryan Hand, 36, has been charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article. He was remanded in custody and appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 16 April.

A 12-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the attack. He has since been released on bail with strict conditions while further inquiries continue. The youth’s involvement has raised wider concerns about the increasing role of children in serious violent crime.
