A 39-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of rape in the early hours of Tuesday, October 10. The man remains in police custody and will be questioned by authorities.
Detectives had released CCTV images of a man who may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation. The reported rape occurred between 06.00 and 07.00 on Saturday, September 23 inside an apartment at Glassworks on Vauxhall Road. The suspect arrived in a dark-coloured vehicle, possibly a Nissan Qashqai or Juke, according to CCTV footage.
The victim, a young man, is currently receiving support from specially trained officers of the Unity Team, who are dedicated to investigating offences of this nature.
