A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and remains in police custody following a stabbing incident on Lewisham Way early Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 4:30 am on June 22. Shortly afterward, a man in his 20s arrived at a South London hospital with a stab injury. Police have stated that his injuries are currently being treated as life-threatening.
A large crime scene has been established, encompassing Lewisham Way, New Cross Road, Amersham Road, Shardeloes Road, and Parkfield Road, as investigations continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “Police and LAS were called at 0434hrs on Saturday, 22 June, to a stabbing in Lewisham Way, SE14. A short time later, a man, aged in his 20s, presented himself at a south London hospital suffering stab injuries. These injuries are being treated as life-threatening at this time.”
The spokesperson confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and taken into police custody.
