A man in his 20s has been arrested following a violent incident in north Belfast on Friday, August 23rd. Police responded to reports of a home invasion and assault at a property on Ballynure Street around 10:40am.
Authorities have reported that a man forcibly entered a house and attacked a woman in her 20s. The victim sustained stab wounds during the assault and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The suspect was quickly apprehended and is now in police custody. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
Detectives from the Public Protection Branch have launched an investigation into the incident. They are appealing to the public for any information that might assist in their inquiries. Witnesses or individuals with relevant information are urged to come forward.
