A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving following a van crash in Brecon Chase, Minster, during the early hours of the morning.
Incident Details
The crash occurred in the early hours and resulted in the van colliding with an electrical pole, causing significant damage and disrupting power supplies in the area. The driver was taken into custody and later bailed to return to the police station on March 20, 2025, pending further investigation.
Power Outages
The collision caused 49 homes to lose electricity initially. UK Power Networks engineers attended the scene shortly after 3am to begin repairs. For safety reasons, supplies to an additional 787 customers were temporarily switched off between 3:21am and 4:29am.
The remaining 49 homes affected by the crash had their power restored in stages, with full restoration completed between 9:35am and 1:09pm.
