A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a child in Winson Green, Birmingham. The child was found at an address where members of the local community helped detain the suspect before police arrived.
The arrested man, who is in his 30s, was taken into custody on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault, and possession of cannabis. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Community Support and Police Response
Superintendent Emlyn Richards of Birmingham Police stated:
“We are not looking for anyone else at this time. However, we urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact us.”
The young girl and her family are receiving support from specialist officers to help them cope with the incident.
