A man in his 20s has been arrested following a fight on High Road, Wembley (HA9), which resulted in a police officer being assaulted.
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:54pm on Thursday, 27 March, following reports of a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers arrested a man on suspicion of common assault. However, during the arrest, the suspect allegedly assaulted a police officer, leading to an additional arrest on suspicion of assaulting an emergency services worker.
The man remains in police custody, and enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed:
“Officers attended and a man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of common assault. He subsequently assaulted a police officer, so was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency services worker.”
Fortunately, the officer involved did not require hospital treatment.
