A 28-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the arm during an early morning incident in Stepney Green, East London.
The shooting happened around 4am today (Thursday, March 27) on Waley Street, near Duckett Street.
Officers were alerted after the man self-presented at hospital, where he was treated for the gunshot wound. His injuries have since been assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
Investigation Underway
Police attended the scene and established a crime scene, carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the surrounding area.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“At around 4am on Thursday, 27 March, police were made aware that a man, aged 28, was being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm.
At this stage, it is believed that he does not have any life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
The incident took place on Waley Street, E1, at some point before 04:00hrs. Officers attended to search the area and complete local enquiries.
A crime scene was put in place. No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.”

Detectives are now working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
