A major incident has been declared in Jersey following a devastating house explosion in the capital city of St Helier.
Emergency services were called to a property on Mont Pinel late last night, where they discovered the aftermath of a powerful blast.
According to witnesses, nearby residents were evacuated from their homes and have remained away overnight.
The explosion caused significant damage to the property and surrounding structures. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the impact on the neighbourhood.
The family who lived in the affected property was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. Their condition remains unknown at this time.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, with approximately five ambulances, one incident support unit, four fire engines, and several police cars present.
