A major fire broke out at a commercial building in Faversham, Kent, prompting a large-scale emergency response that lasted over 14 hours.
Emergency Response on Ashford Road
Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called at 5:37pm on Wednesday, 28 May 2025, to reports of a significant blaze at a commercial premises on Ashford Road in Faversham, where the fire drew considerable attention.
At the height of the incident, 10 fire engines, a height vehicle, and specialist support units were deployed to tackle the flames. Kent Police were also in attendance, supporting the fire operation and securing the surrounding area amid the Faversham fire chaos.
Specialist Equipment Used
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used main hose jets and a fog spike—a tool used to pierce walls and cool hotspots from within the structure—to bring the roaring flames under control during the Faversham fire incident.
A drone (unmanned aerial vehicle) was also used to survey the site from above and identify any lingering heat sources, enabling firefighters to safely target the worst-affected zones during the Faversham fire containment efforts.
