Emergency services are currently responding to a large factory fire in Lydgate, near Todmorden, with road closures and railway disruptions now in effect.
The fire was first reported at 7:32pm on Saturday evening at a building on Jumps Road.
Both West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) crews are on site, tackling the blaze using breathing apparatus and hose reels.
WYFRS Official Statement:
We currently have six crews at a building fire in Todmorden. We were called at 19:32 to Jumps Road. Crews from WYFRS and GMFRS are tackling the fire using breathing apparatus and hose reels. All residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed due to the large amount of smoke. The road has been closed as a precaution.
There have been no injuries reported so far. Residents are urged to follow all police and fire service instructions and to share information with friends and family who may not have internet access.
Railway services in the area will experience significant delays and cancellations throughout the night.
