At 3.45am on 17 May, police responded to Watkinson Road near Caledonian Road in Islington following reports of a group “fighting with knives.” A man in his 20s was found with stab wounds to his chest and back. He was taken to hospital, and his condition has since stabilised.
Growing Concern Over Knife Violence
The Metropolitan Police has launched multiple investigations and deployed additional patrols in high-risk areas. No arrests have been confirmed in the Islington or Walthamstow stabbings. The Tigerbay lounge closure in Kingsbury forms part of emergency licensing powers as officers examine whether the venue contributed to disorder.
A Met Police spokesperson said:
Each of these violent incidents is deeply concerning. We urge anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice.”
