Emergency services, including the London Air Ambulance, were called to an incident near Holy Cross School in New Malden earlier today, prompting concern among local residents.
The air ambulance was seen landing in a nearby field shortly after sirens were heard throughout the area. Many took to social media to ask what had happened, with one resident posting: “Does anybody know what the air ambulance and sirens were for around New Malden? Was it road-related?”
The incident involved a bricklayer who reportedly fell from scaffolding near the school. The extent of the worker’s injuries is currently unknown.
