Octagon Mall Horror: Robber Threatens Staff with Blade
Samuel Anouer, 34, homeless and desperate, pleaded guilty to robbery, carrying a bladed weapon, theft, and breaching a City Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from the area.
On the evening of Tuesday 11 February 2025, just before 7pm, Anouer stormed into a busy store at Octagon Mall. He Beganbegan grabbing goods from shelves but when staff stepped in, he pulled a knife and threatened them before making off with around £640 Worthworth of stolen items.
Caught on CCTV, Nabbed Next Morning
london/”>City of London Police acted fast, using CCTV footage to identify Anouer. He was arrested the following morning.
Detective Constable Emma Martin said: “This was a terrifying incident for staff and shoppers who witnessed Anouer wielding a knife. No one should face violence or intimidation while at work or simply going about their daily routine. We remain committed to investigating all offences thoroughly and ensuring offenders are brought before the courts.”
