In a swift response to an emergency call, the Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) dispatched two fire engines to a flat in Priory Road, Dartford, where a kitchen fire had broken out earlier today.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:20 PM, is believed to have started accidentally after a pan containing cooking oil was left unattended on the stove.
Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus and high-pressure hose reel jets, promptly tackled the blaze on the hob. Their rapid response and efficient efforts ensured that the fire was brought under control swiftly.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The KFRS’ volunteer response team was also present at the scene to provide support and guidance to the residents affected by the incident.
Kitchen fires are not uncommon and often stem from moments of inattention or carelessness. As such, it is crucial for everyone to exercise extra caution when cooking and to maintain clean and clutter-free cooking areas that are devoid of flammable materials.
One fundamental safety practice is to never leave cooking unattended, especially when using high-heat methods. In case you need to leave the kitchen for any reason, ensure that all appliances are turned off.
The KFRS continues to emphasize the importance of fire safety and encourages residents to remain vigilant and informed about safe cooking practices.
In emergencies like these, their swift response and professional conduct play a pivotal role in minimizing damage and ensuring the safety of residents and their homes.
