Three fire engines were dispatched to the Headcorn Road fire, and firefighters used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. There were no reported casualties, and the fire is thought to have started accidentally after spreading from a nearby bonfire.
Crews are reminding everyone to use caution when lighting bonfires in the aftermath of the fire. Always keep them well away from your home, sheds, trees, and foliage, and never leave them unattended.
