Kent Air ambulance called to serious collision on the Isle of Sheppey
The Kent Surrey Sussex air ambulance has been called to assist at a collision on the Isle of Sheppey this afternoon.
Police and other emergency have also been called to the incident involving a Car and a Van on A249 and rugby club on Lower Road. One person was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters using cutting equipment. https://youtu.be/aN17_QiAZwk The blue and black and white life saving helicopter landed on a nearby green following the serious collision that happened just before 6pm on Wednesday evening. Long delays have been reported on approach with further delays being added caused by two further collision near to Morrison Neats Court. A driver from this crash was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries. South East Coast Ambulance have been approached for comment Police have opened one side of the road whilst they await recovery of both vehicle from the scene. Traffic is still very heavy coming on to the Island with reported delays of up to 90 minutes. Those involved are not thought to be seriously injured 8.20pm Police recovery contractors have now arrived to remove the two damaged vehicles.
