Twenty-one Israeli soldiers have lost their lives during intense fighting in Gaza, marking the highest number of casualties in a single day since the conflict began in the enclave.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, a military spokesman, disclosed that the fatal incident unfolded when militants targeted an Israeli tank with a rocket-propelled grenade. Simultaneously, a two-storey building was rocked by an explosion, leading to its collapse on the Israeli troops.
“We are still studying and investigating the details of the event and the reasons for the explosion,” stated Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, highlighting the ongoing efforts to comprehend the circumstances surrounding the tragic loss of lives.
The toll on the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) raises concerns about the escalating violence in the region. The clash comes amid heightened tensions and continuous conflicts, emphasising the complexity of the situation and the challenges faced by both military personnel and civilians.
