Detectives investigating a reported rape in Margate have concluded their enquiries after speaking to several witnesses and reviewing all available evidence.
On the evening of Tuesday, 21 January 2025, Kent Police received a report that a man had been raped while on the promenade near Ethelbert Crescent. Following the report, a thorough investigation was launched, which included forensic analysis, witness interviews, and CCTV review.
After exhausting all current lines of enquiry, officers have determined that there are no further suspects to investigate in connection with this case.
Detective Inspector Richard Palmer stated, “Kent Police take reports of sexual offences seriously and will work to identify all lines of enquiry to help us establish the circumstances. We want to thank everyone who has assisted in our investigation into this report.
He also reassured the public, saying, “Our priority is to support and protect the public, and I hope people are reassured that there is no wider risk to the community and that Margate continues to be a safe location to live and work in.
The investigation has now been concluded, and Kent Police has confirmed that no further action is required.
