In a bid to unravel the shocking drive-by shooting that occurred in Quinton, Birmingham, on Sunday, 10 September, authorities have released images of three individuals they wish to speak to. The incident, which took place at approximately 17.45 on Quinton Road West, involved an assailant on a scrambler-style e-bike firing shots towards a white Lexus. Two other masked riders on similar e-bikes were also implicated in the incident.
While the released images may not offer perfect clarity, investigators are hopeful that they will trigger memories or recognition within the local community, urging anyone with information to come forward. Additionally, the police are appealing to the occupants of the targeted Lexus to provide details about the incident.
Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, leading the Major Crime Team on this case, stated, “We continue to work hard to understand the circumstances leading up to this incident. This happened in broad daylight, and on a main arterial route. This incident is truly shocking and we will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
The investigation team is actively pursuing multiple leads and combing through CCTV footage in the vicinity to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the incident on Quinton Road West. They are urging anyone who may possess information about the incident to get in touch.
“We would also ask anyone who lives, visits, or has businesses in and around the surrounding areas to check their cameras to see if they’ve picked up any footage that could help our investigation,” added Det. Insp. Cordell. Furthermore, an online portal has been established where individuals can submit phone, dash-cam, or ring doorbell footage to aid in the inquiry.

Addressing concerns about a reported incident in Ridgmond Croft on Saturday afternoon, Det. Insp. Cordell clarified, “We are aware of another reported incident which took place on Saturday afternoon in Ridgmond Croft but at this stage, we are not treating the incidents as connected.”
Local policing Inspector Jason Wathes assured the community that additional resources from the traffic and priority crime team have been deployed to address local concerns. He highlighted the overall reduction in crime figures in the area but acknowledged the community’s apprehensions following Sunday’s incident.
Inspector Wathes concluded, “Over the next few weeks, we will be arranging a community meeting where people can speak to us directly and tell us about their concerns.”
