Two 14-year-old boys have been taken to hospital following a serious crash involving an e-scooter in Ilford this afternoon (Thursday, March 27).
The incident occurred just after 3.40pm on Ilford High Street, near the junction with Fremantle Road. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where the two teenagers were found injured.
They were taken to hospital for treatment. Their current conditions remain unknown.
Arrest Made on Suspicion of Dangerous Driving
Police confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in connection with the collision. He is currently in police custody as enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police were called to a road traffic collision involving an e-scooter and two pedestrians in High Street, IG6 at 15:43hrs on Thursday, 27 March.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and two boys, both aged 14, were taken to hospital. We await an update on their condition.
A man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
Road closures remain in place.”

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward as investigations continue.
