Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, is facing legal trouble as he has been charged with three criminal counts linked to firearms possession, according to a court document filed in the United States District Court in Delaware.
The charges stem from an indictment issued on Thursday, accusing Hunter Biden of making false statements regarding his drug use while trying to obtain a firearm in 2018. The indictment was brought forward by US Special Counsel David Weiss.
This legal development comes after a previous agreement involving Hunter Biden pleading guilty to two misdemeanour tax charges and enrolling in a program to avoid prosecution on a gun-related charge fell through in July. The new indictment has placed the President’s son in a legal predicament, raising questions about the potential consequences he may face as a result of these charges.
