Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire on a house boat at Hoo Marina in Rochester this morning.
The incident was reported at 9:28am, prompting a swift emergency response. Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled and successfully extinguished the blaze.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and fire investigators are expected to examine the vessel to establish how the blaze began.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed:
“Crews responded quickly to reports of a house boat fire at Hoo Marina this morning. Our teams worked effectively to bring the fire under control. No injuries have been reported and the cause is under investigation.
The incident was brought under control by 11:51am. Residents and marina users are thanked for their cooperation during the response.
