Police in Calderdale are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a violent assault that took place in Halifax on Tuesday, August 20. The incident occurred at approximately 2pm on Norfolk Place, where a man was attacked with a baseball bat in broad daylight.
According to reports, the assailant arrived at the scene by car before approaching the victim, who was on foot. The attacker then proceeded to strike the pedestrian multiple times with a baseball bat, causing serious injuries to the victim’s hands and legs.
West Yorkshire Police have made progress in their investigation, with a 30-year-old male suspect arrested in connection with the assault. However, the individual has been released pending further enquiries.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the attack or has relevant video footage to come forward. Detective Inspector John Smith said, “We are treating this incident very seriously and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist our investigation.”
