Police Scotland in Greenock are seeking information from the public after a 22-year-old man was assaulted and robbed within a property on Wellington Street. The incident occurred around 1410 BST on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
The victim was taken to Inverclyde Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Detective Constable Laura Sokolov of Greenock Police Station stated, “Our enquiries into this are ongoing, and we are keen to trace two men believed to be involved in the incident.”
The first suspect is described as having a medium build, with dark shaved hair, wearing a black Celtic T-shirt with the word “Magners” on the back, grey jogging bottoms, black trainers, and black gloves. The second suspect is described as having a slim build, wearing a black puffer jacket with a small white logo on the left chest area, black jogging bottoms, black/white/grey trainers, and black gloves.
Detective Constable Sokolov urged members of the public to come forward if they have seen individuals matching these descriptions around the time of the incident. Additionally, anyone with other information, including dashcam and private CCTV footage in the area, is encouraged to contact the police.
“I am also appealing to anyone who may have any other information which could assist us, including dash cam and private CCTV footage in the area, to get in touch,” she added.
