Default Heading H1
A flat on Gravesend High Street has been shut down under a court order following repeated reports of drug dealing and antisocial behaviour, Kent Police have confirmed.
The closure order, granted on Friday 18 July at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court, comes after months of police responses to disturbances and suspected criminal activity linked to the property.
Three-Month Closure Enforced
Under the terms of the order, no one is permitted to enter the property for three months, and any breach could lead to arrest and prosecution.
Officers from Kent Police visited the property on Friday to secure and board up the flat, ensuring it could no longer be accessed while the order is in effect.
Police Response
PC Jo Hammond from the local policing team said:
“We are committed to doing everything we can to tackle antisocial behaviour and will not hesitate to take similar action when persistent crime from one household blights the quality of life for everyone else.”
Community Impact
Local residents have expressed relief at the action taken, with the flat previously being a notorious hotspot for illegal activity, including suspected drug supply and repeated police callouts.
The order is part of wider efforts by Kent Police to disrupt county lines drug networks and restore public confidence in local communities affected by criminality.
Anyone witnessing suspicious behaviour in the area is urged to contact Kent Police on 101 or via the force’s website. Reports can also be made anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
