Whether you’re heading into central London for the annual fireworks display or simply navigating the city, here’s what you need to know to ensure a smooth journey.

New Year’s Eve London Underground Services On New Year’s Eve, TfL anticipates a regular service for most London Underground lines throughout the day. However, there are a few exceptions:
- The Waterloo and City Line will have no service.
- The District Line will not serve Kensington Olympia.
For night owls and those celebrating late into the night, rest assured that the night service will operate on all lines except the Waterloo and City Line and the District Line.
New Year’s Eve London Overground Services The London Overground will also see some service changes on New Year’s Eve:
- Gospel Oak-Barking Riverside will not offer overnight service, along with Romford-Upminster.
- Euston-Watford Junction will provide additional late-night services at specific times.
- Liverpool Street-Enfield Town/Cheshunt/Chingford will feature a special overnight service.
- Highbury & Islington-West Croydon/Clapham Junction/Crystal Palace will have no day service between Clapham Junction and Surrey Quays but will operate a special overnight service.
- The Richmond/Clapham Junction-Stratford line will offer a special overnight service.
New Year’s Eve London Bus Services London buses will operate a Sunday day service on New Year’s Eve. Some buses in central London may be on diversion starting from early afternoon. The night service will run 24 hours, with increased frequency on selected routes.
New Year’s Day Services For those traveling on New Year’s Day, here’s what to expect:
London Underground Services Most London Underground services will operate as usual, with the exception of the Waterloo and City Line (no service) and the District Line (no service to Kensington Olympia).
London Overground Services
- Gospel Oak-Barking Riverside will start service at 8:49 am, with reduced service until 2 pm.
- Euston-Watford Junction will begin with a Sunday start time but run a Saturday service.
- Liverpool Street-Enfield Town/Cheshunt/Chingford and Romford-Upminster will commence services at 6:30 am with a Saturday service.
- The Highbury & Islington-West Croydon/Clapham Junction/Crystal Palace line will not operate between Clapham Junction and Surrey Quays.
- The Richmond/Clapham Junction-Stratford line will provide a Saturday service.
London Bus Services London buses will follow a Sunday service schedule for all-day routes, with a Sunday night service.
