Firefighters were called to a garden fire on Struttons Avenue, Gravesend, on Saturday evening. The incident, which was reported to Kent Fire and Rescue Service at 6.09pm, saw two fire engines dispatched to the scene.
Crews, equipped with breathing apparatus, used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze, which had spread from the garden into parts of the kitchen within the affected property. Positive pressure ventilation fans were also employed to clear smoke from the area.
The fire was brought under control by 6.49pm. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time and is currently under investigation.
Residents in the area praised the swift response from the fire service. Local authorities are reminding the public to take precautions when dealing with open flames or garden fires, especially during dry conditions.
