A garage fire on Hawe Farm Way in Herne Bay sparked a significant emergency response this morning, with three fire engines and ambulance crews called to the scene.
Emergency Response
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 09:43am on Wednesday, 30 April, following reports of a garage engulfed in flames. Fire crews from Canterbury and surrounding areas responded swiftly, using high-pressure hose reel jets, main jets, and a compressed air foam system (CAFs) to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with speed and efficiency, containing the fire to the garage structure.
Casualty and Investigation
One person was treated at the scene and passed into the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). Their condition has not been confirmed, but no serious injuries have been reported at this time.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation by fire officers.

Kent Fire and Rescue is reminding residents to ensure garages and outbuildings are safely maintained and not used for hazardous storage. They urge the public to install smoke alarms in outbuildings where possible.
