Four men have been charged with a series of serious child exploitation and trafficking offences in Rhyl, following a major investigation by North Wales Police.
The charges relate to Operation Embank and Operation Zirconium—two linked inquiries involving three teenage female victims who reported abuse in Rhyl and surrounding areas between April 2022 and March 2024.
CHARGED:
- Mustafa Iqbal, 42, of Trellewelyn Road, Rhyl
- 3 counts of rape
- 3 counts of sexual assault
- 3 counts of inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity
- 6 offences under Sections 1 & 2 of the Modern Slavery Act
- Conspiracy to supply Class A & B drugs
- Possession of a firearm
- Breach of a Slavery and Trafficking Risk Order (STRO)
- Mohammad Usman Arshad, 35, of Clifton Grove, Rhyl
- 1 count of rape
- 4 offences under the Modern Slavery Act
- Supply of Class B drugs
- Ziaullah Badsha, 24, of Brighton Road, Rhyl
- 2 counts of rape
- 4 offences under the Modern Slavery Act
- Supply of Class B drugs
- Jaswinder Singh, 60, of River Street, Rhyl
- 2 offences under Section 2 of the Modern Slavery Act
- Supply of Class B drugs
All four appeared at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court today and have been remanded in custody. Their next court date is scheduled for Friday, 5 September at Mold Crown Court.
Additionally, a 61-year-old man from London was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries. Charges also remain pending against a female suspect from the Flintshire area.
