Four people have been arrested following a serious assault on a motorist near Hawkhurst. The incident occurred on Sunday, 6 April 2025, at around 2.40 pm, as a woman was driving along Water Lane.
Incident Details
According to Kent Police, the victim, a woman in her 60s, was driving on the one-way street when she encountered a motorcycle followed by a car traveling in the opposite direction. After stopping her vehicle and speaking to the motorcyclist, it is reported that he, along with the occupants of the car, assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Fortunately, she has since been discharged.
Arrests Made
On Monday, 7 April, officers detained four individuals in connection with the incident:
- Two men, aged 26 and 50
- Two women, aged 21 and 50
During the arrests, it is alleged that five officers were assaulted.
Police Appeal
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward. Detective Inspector Mark Fielding said:
“This was a violent and shocking incident, and we are committed to bringing those responsible to justice. We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen the events unfold or has dashcam footage from the area.”
