A Forest Gate man has been charged in connection with a violent attack on a 17-year-old boy in Harlow, which left the victim with life-changing head injuries, police have confirmed.
The assault occurred on Sunday, February 2, in a car park in Harlow, Essex. Essex Police responded to the scene and found the teenage victim seriously injured, having suffered a brutal attack, during which his e-bike was also stolen.
The incident has since led to a string of arrests and charges, with three suspects now in custody.
Suspects Charged in Ongoing Investigation
Lee Farrugia, 29, of Spruce Hill, Harlow, was the first to be arrested on February 10. He was initially charged with robbery, but now faces multiple additional charges, including:
- Dangerous driving
- Three counts of theft of a motor vehicle
- Burglary
- Driving without insurance
- Driving while disqualified
Farrugia remains in custody and is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday, April 10.
New Arrests: Forest Gate and Harlow Men Charged
On Tuesday, March 11, police arrested Jason Millard, 36, of Oakdale Road, Forest Gate, East London. He has since been charged with burglary and handling stolen goods, and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 12. Millard has been remanded in custody until a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday, April 9.
A third suspect, Charlie Farrugia, 23, also of Spruce Hill, Harlow, was arrested on Wednesday, March 12 and charged with:
- Robbery
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Possession of cannabis
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 13, and has also been remanded in custody until a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on April 10.
Police Continue to Appeal for Information
Essex Police have reiterated their appeal for witnesses and information relating to the attack. Members of the public can submit details via a dedicated public portal, quoting incident 348 of 2 February.

The 17-year-old victim continues to receive medical treatment and support, with police confirming the injuries sustained were life-changing, underscoring the seriousness of the attack.
