Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Late-Night Attack
Five teenagers have been arrested following a violent stabbing at a flat party in Nottingham that left a 17-year-old boy seriously injured.
Emergency services rushed to Hounds Gate shortly after 11:40 pm on Friday, 28 February, where they discovered the teenage victim suffering from serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. Two other individuals, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, also sustained injuries during the incident.
Investigation Underway
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man and four 17-year-old boys have been taken into custody. Officers are now working to piece together the events leading up to the attack.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Chris Berryman said:
“We believe this incident happened during a party at a flat, and we are working to understand the moments before, during, and after what happened.
“We particularly want to hear from anyone who was inside the flat, or who saw people running from the scene shortly afterwards.
“Drivers with dashcam footage who witnessed any part of this disturbance are also urged to get in touch.
Increased Police Presence in Nottingham
Superintendent Kathryn Craner reassured the public that police are keeping an open mind about any links to other violent incidents in the city, but at this stage, there is no indication that this stabbing is connected to previous attacks.
She added:
“We will continue to maintain a high and visible presence in the city to provide reassurance and speak with anyone who has concerns.”
Road Closures and Ongoing Investigation
Police cordons remain in place at several locations, including Hounds Gate, Maid Marian Way, Standard Hill, and Lenton Road, as forensic teams carry out their investigations.
