A major police investigation is underway after five men were stabbed and subsequently arrested at a late-night music event in Plumstead, southeast London.
Emergency services were called to Nathan Way at approximately 4.20am on Saturday, May 17, after reports of a disturbance at a large music event attended by around 300 people.
Responding officers, alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, found five men — aged 22, 24, 24, 31 and 32 — suffering from stab wounds.
Three of the victims were treated at the scene and transported to hospital. A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The condition of the remaining two individuals is still being assessed.
In a striking development, all five men were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, and a police cordon remains in place around the scene as investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Steven Andrews, leading the enquiry, said:
“Officers responded quickly to provide medical assistance to the five injured people alongside the London Ambulance Service and ensure the safety of around 300 people who were at this music event.
The five men who have been injured have been arrested for violent disorder, and we continue to work to establish any wider involvement.”
“There will be a continued police presence on Nathan Way throughout today while we continue this investigation. We encourage anyone with any information to contact police to assist with enquiries.”
The identity and organiser of the music event have not yet been disclosed.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:
“We were called at 4.17am on Saturday 16 May to reports of a stabbing in Nathan Way, SE28.
We sent resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in response cars, an incident response officer, advanced paramedics and London’s air ambulance.
We treated three patients at the scene before taking them to hospital.”
The Metropolitan Police is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured it on video to come forward.
