Five men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Wolverhampton earlier this week, police have confirmed.
The arrests were made after West Midlands Police acted on intelligence, detaining the suspects from a car in Birmingham last night.
The men, aged between 19 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody for questioning.
Tragic Shooting in Eastfield Grove
The arrests follow the tragic death of a man in his 20s, who was shot in Eastfield Grove at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, March 4.
A second man was also injured in the shooting and is currently receiving hospital treatment for gunshot wounds.
Police Investigation Continues
Detective Superintendent Shaun Edwards, from the Major Crime Unit, said:
“A young man has tragically lost his life and we have teams working round the clock to establish exactly what happened and why.
“This is a significant development in our investigation, and we continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.”
