Firefighters have been called to a serious house fire in Sparkhill, Birmingham, after flames tore through a two-storey property on Warwick Road.
West Midlands Fire Service said it was alerted to the blaze at 2.03pm on Thursday, 20 March, and quickly mobilised a significant response to the scene. Five fire engines and two 4×4 brigade response vehicles were initially dispatched, with the first crew arriving within four minutes.
The fire was reported in a mid-terraced, two-storey home, and had already spread into the roof space by the time crews arrived. Firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the flames using hose reels and a covering jet in an effort to bring the situation under control.
