Firefighters were called to a blaze at a derelict building in Northfleet, Gravesend, on Sunday evening.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded supported by the London Fire Brigade to reports of a fire at the site on High Street shortly after 5:00pm. Five fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched to the scene, with crews arriving swiftly to bring the incident under control.
Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, battled the flames using main jets. The operation continued for more than an hour, with the fire brought under control by approximately 6:45pm.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
Kent Police also attended the scene in support of the emergency response.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are expected to continue, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
The derelict site has been cordoned off while safety assessments are carried out.
