Emergency services raced to Mill Road, Gillingham early this morning (Wednesday, 7 May 2025) after reports of a fire at a commercial premises.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that five fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched to the scene at around 6:07 AM. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus fought the flames using powerful main jets.
Photos from the scene show smoke billowing from the building as crews worked swiftly to bring the fire under control. The incident was successfully dealt with by 7:46 AM.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the blaze is currently unknown and a full investigation will be launched to determine what started the fire.

While firefighters have now extinguished the fire, authorities are advising residents and businesses in the immediate area to stay cautious and avoid the site while investigations continue.
