A serious incident occurred in High Street, West Wickham, just after 12:40 am today (March 13), resulting in one fatality.
Police and London Ambulance Service crews were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of an injured person. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Currently, the High Street remains closed in both directions between A214 Station Road (Swan traffic lights) and Ravenswood Avenue. Traffic is being diverted via Station Road, Manor Park Road, and Ravenswood Crescent, causing congestion in the surrounding areas.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated: “We were called at 12:42 am today (March 13) to reports of a person injured in the High Street, West Wickham. We dispatched ambulance crews and an advanced paramedic. Despite the best efforts of our teams, the patient sadly died at the scene.”
