An investigation is ongoing following a fatal collision in Wickford, which occurred on Southend Road at around 9 pm on Tuesday, 1 April 2025.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called to the scene after a car and a motorbike collided. The road was immediately closed between Hill Avenue and Hawkins Close while officers and paramedics attended to the incident.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, the motorbike rider, a man in his 30s, sadly died from his injuries. His family has been informed and is currently being supported by specialist officers.
Arrest Made
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Appeal for Witnesses
Essex Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam or doorbell footage from the area to come forward.
Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving or walking in the vicinity at the time.
