Two people have died and a woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash involving two cars on the A45 carriageway between Thrapston and Raunds.
Northamptonshire Police reported that the incident occurred at 11:45am on Saturday when a Ford Fiesta and a Ford Puma collided. The crash took place on the stretch of the A45 that links with the A14 at Thrapston.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman succumbed to her injuries later in the hospital. Another woman remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police confirmed.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or of either vehicle prior to the crash to come forward. They noted that the A45 would have been busy at the time of the collision, and any additional information could be crucial in their investigation.
The A45 is a single carriageway road that connects to the A14, making it a significant route for traffic in the area. The police are urging drivers who may have been in the vicinity or who have relevant footage to contact them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police.
