West Midlands Police have announced two arrests following a tragic collision in Ward End, Birmingham, which resulted in the death of a man in his 20s. The incident occurred at the junction of Ward End Road and Drews Lane around 6 pm on May 6.
Emergency services responded to the scene swiftly, where they found a black Honda Civic had collided with another vehicle. Despite the efforts of medical responders, the occupant of the Honda, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends, and we’ll be doing all we can to support them during this terrible time,” stated West Midlands Police.
While other individuals sustained injuries, they were fortunately not life-threatening. However, the tragedy prompted the arrest of two 22-year-old men on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
One of the suspects is currently in police custody for questioning, while the other is receiving hospital treatment and will be interviewed in due course.
Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation to come forward. They are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam footage from individuals who were in the area at the time of the collision.
